I’ve had to put the Twitch streams on hiatus until I get my laptop fixed.

This will hopefully happen relatively soon, but in the meantime, there’s nothing I can do - all attempts to stream anyway with Other Hardware Available To Me have failed. Getting a New Laptop is not a thing in the year of our Lord 2026, as money is in fact not merely an object but also a fairly scarce one.

You know how it is.

Anyway, it turns out that streaming live video for a couple of hours twice a week stresses the hell out of a laptop. Who could have possibly guessed?

In other news, at the encouragement of my lovely Mastodon music friends, I have finally got around to setting up a Faircamp for Fit and the Conniptions. You can find that here.

What’s that all about then, I hear you ask, listening extremely carefully, and also doing that middle-aged-man thing of only hearing what I want to hear.

I’m glad you asked, obviously. Faircamp is a cleaner but somewhat less full-featured version of Bandcamp, with the advantage that you get to do the hosting yourself. The downside, of course, is that you get to do the hosting yourself, but this should hopefully not be a problem for me.

The main point is that you can both stream and optionally purchase my music there, instead of at Bandcamp.

The truth of it is that since Bandcamp was sold first to Epic and then again to another company called Songtradr, who also sacked half the staff, it is not at all clear that musicians can rely on it to continue in its present form for the indefinite future. Wikipedia has a pretty good run-down of the shenanigans.

So I, and many other musicians I know, are currently casting around for alternatives. Hence today’s comic.

Anyway, Faircamp is great. I’ve signed up to the Faircamp webring, so you can click around and find loads of other great music which is also there, like Meljoann and Kristoffer Lislegaard and countless more.

I hope you find something you like.

Worst way, you could always come back to mine.

There is other news, you’ll find it over here on the Wayne blog.
